How Kohr Golf Academy Uses RecruitAI to Give Every Student a Recruiting Edge

When we started building RecruitAI, we knew families needed better tools. But we also heard the same thing from academy owners and coaches: "My families ask me about recruiting every week, and I don't have a good answer for them."

Kohr Golf Academy was one of the first programs to tell us this — and the first to put RecruitAI to work for their students.

The problem academies face

Coaching businesses live and die by the value they provide to families. Golf instruction is the core, but the conversation always turns to recruiting. Parents want to know: Where can my kid play in college? Are we aiming too high? Too low? What should we do next?

Most academies handle this one of three ways:

  • Refer families to a consultant — which means sending revenue (and trust) to a third party
  • Offer recruiting guidance themselves — which takes time they don't have and expertise they may not claim
  • Avoid the topic — which leaves families feeling unsupported at the most stressful part of the junior golf journey

None of these options are great. Kohr wanted a fourth option: a tool they could offer directly to their students that was data-driven, scalable, and didn't require hiring a recruiting coordinator.

What Kohr uses

Kohr Golf Academy runs the white-label version of RecruitAI — branded to their program, integrated into their offering, and available to every student in their system.

Here's what their families get:

  • Personalized school matches based on each student's scoring average, academic profile, and geographic preferences — powered by historical commitment data from 2,000+ programs
  • Fit scores that show where a student stands today, and projected fit scores that show where they could be with improvement
  • An AI recruiting coach that answers questions, drafts outreach emails, and helps families navigate the process step by step
  • Multi-player dashboards so Kohr's coaching staff can see how all their students are progressing in one place

What changed

Before RecruitAI, recruiting conversations at Kohr were ad hoc. A parent would ask a coach during a lesson, the coach would offer their best guess based on experience, and the family would go home with a vague sense of direction. The quality of guidance depended entirely on which coach they talked to and how much that coach knew about the recruiting landscape.

Now, every family has the same starting point: a data-backed list of schools that match their student. The coach can reference the same data during conversations. And families can explore on their own time, using the AI coach to dig deeper into specific programs or draft their first outreach email.

For Kohr's staff, the biggest change is time. Recruiting questions that used to take 20 minutes of one-on-one conversation now start with "Have you looked at your matches yet?" The tool doesn't replace the coach — it gives the coach a shared foundation to work from.

Why white-label matters

When a family logs in, they see Kohr's branding. The tool feels like part of the academy's offering — because it is. This matters for a few reasons:

  • Retention: Families see recruiting support as a reason to stay in the program, not just the golf instruction
  • Differentiation: No other academy in their market offers anything like this
  • Revenue: The white-label platform is a value-add that can be included in existing packages or offered as an upgrade

Kohr doesn't need to hire a recruiting coordinator or build their own software. They get a tool that's always up to date, always available, and always personalized to each student.

What we learned

Working with Kohr taught us a lot about what academies actually need from a recruiting tool:

  • Coaches want to reference the data during conversations — they don't want to become data analysts
  • Parents value having something to look at between lessons — it keeps them engaged and reduces anxiety
  • The AI coach handles the questions that coaches hear every week but don't always have time to answer in depth: "What should I put in my email to coaches?", "Is D3 a good fit for my kid?", "When should we start reaching out?"
